Yes We Can Youth Clinics is one of the most successful youth clinics for young people aged 13 to 25 with mental health issues, addictions and behavioural problems. To continue our success and realise our growth ambitions, we are looking for a Family Counsellor & Family Case Manager.

The Family Counsellor/Case Manager is responsible for maintaining and improving Yes We Can’s outstanding reputation in the world as the number one provider of mental health services to a target audience in the age range 13 to 25. The objective of this multidisciplinary role is to assure families to experience the services of Yes We Can as exceptional or beyond. You are responsible for a 4-day family and counselling program, including various motivational talks with parents before and after treatment. Your responsibility is also to assure all inquiries and bookings to be handled with the best of care and families to experience the services of Yes We Can as exceptional or beyond. You are responsible for the entire customer journey from A to Z.

What are you going to do?

  • Leading systemic family sessions in combination with various other treatment interventions such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy and working with various communication models;
  • You facilitate the process with an eye for family dynamics, potential trauma and discretely work on the disclosure of secrets, (inter)personal issues and parental responsibilities;
  • You support parents in gaining more insight into their own role and their own process of change, with the aim to support the fellow in his/her recovery process;
  • As a family counsellor you recognise (dysfunctional) patterns and help to bring the relationship of authority back into balance by using your own recovery experience, amongst other things through a warm, but firm way of confrontation.
  • First point of contact, warmly introducing families/carers to YWYC;
  • Explain the treatment process and admission criteria;
  • Coordinate intake admission day;
  • Conducts motivational interviews with (future) fellows;
  • Remove all barriers and obstacles for families to receive care;
  • Determines fit between needs of the youngster and YWCC program;
  • Carry out administrative work;
  • Coordinate and consult with the treatment coordinator, the treatment team and secretarial department;
  • Guide, communicate and inform internally when necessary changes occur within the process, both pre and after treatment;
  • Supports the treatment coordinator, the referrer and the fellow/family/carer in setting up a feasible aftercare plan, timely informing all stakeholders.

Who are you?

  • You are a qualified (12step) counsellor or coach, preferably systemically trained;
  • Preferably you have already built up some work experience within our target group and you are ready to take on a strong role within our team;
  • You are naturally motivated, driven and enthusiastic;
  • You are able to combine knowledge with decisiveness and perseverance and you dare to be open and honest with the parents/carers and your colleagues;
  • Your warm personality and commitment make you a professional who fits the vision that Yes We Can Clinics propagates and makes it unique;
  • You understand cultural diversity and privileged life styles;
  • Fluent in English, preferably also a few other foreign languages;
  • You have minimum 5 years work experience;
  • Knowledge and control of MS Office and preferably also CRM (SalesForce);
  • You have strong communication and client service skills.

About Yes We Can Clinics

When all else fails, Yes We Can Youth Clinics provides a solution for many teens and young adults, aged 13 to 25, struggling with mental health issues, addictions and behavioural problems. Our approach has proven to be very successful: about 70% of the fellows no longer need specialised care after having completed 10 weeks of residential treatment and a minimum of 4 weeks aftercare. Our success rate is so high because we not only work together with our fellows, but also with their parents. Successful treatment requires a serious effort from both of them.
